How to maintain stainless steel ball valves?

Overhaul of stainless steel ball valve

1. Before maintenance, the pressure of the pipeline needs to be released and the valve is in the open position. We must first confirm that the pressure on the stainless steel ball valve has been removed from the upstream and downstream pipelines before performing the disassembly and disassembly operation.

2.When disassembling and reassembling, care must be taken to prevent damage to the sealing surfaces of the parts, especially non-metallic parts. When removing the O-ring, it is advisable to use special tools to assemble the bolts on the flanges.

3. The cleaning agent should be compatible with the rubber parts, plastic parts, metal parts and working medium in the ball valve. When the working medium is gas, metal parts can be cleaned with gasoline. Non-metal parts should be removed from the cleaning agent immediately after cleaning, and should not be soaked for a long time.

4. After cleaning, it is necessary to assemble after the volatilized cleaning agent is washed, but it should not be left for a long time, otherwise it will rust and be contaminated by dust. New parts must also be cleaned before assembly.

Disassembly of stainless steel ball valve

1.With the stainless steel ball valve in the half-open position, flush and remove dangerous substances that may exist inside and outside the valve. Close the stainless steel ball valve, remove the connecting bolts and nuts on the flanges on both sides, and then completely remove the valve from the pipeline.

2. Disassemble the driving device in sequence-the actuator, the connection bracket, the lock washer, the stem nut, the butterfly spring, the glam, the wear-resistant sheet, and the stem packing.

3. Remove the body cover connecting bolts and nuts, separate the valve cover from the valve body, and remove the valve cover gasket. Verify that the ball is in the "off" position, and then remove the valve seat.

4. Gently push down the valve stem from the middle hole of the valve body until it is completely removed, and then remove the O-ring and the packing under the valve stem.

Note: Be careful to avoid scratching the surface of the valve stem and the sealing part of the valve body stuffing box.

Assembly of stainless steel ball valve

1. Clean and inspect the removed parts. It is strongly recommended to replace the seals such as the valve seat and bonnet gasket with a spare parts package. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.

2. Cross-tighten the flange connection bolts and stem nuts with the specified torque.

3. After installing the actuator, input the corresponding signals to drive the valve core to rotate by turning the valve stem to make the stainless steel ball valve to the open and closed positions.

4. Before reinstalling the pipeline, perform pressure seal test and performance test on the valve according to relevant standards.
