How to Deal with the Problems from Valve Leaking?

If you find yourself dealing with stainless steel valve leaking, you can wind up dealing with a myriad of problems. In many cases, the valve itself is the part of your facility that is leaking. However, in other cases, it can wind up being the flange around your valve that is leaking. This is a particularly prevalent problem with your old devices.

Here’s some tips about how to deal with the problems from valve leaking.

 

 

1. Preventive Measures for Water Leakage and Gaseous Leakage of Valve

First of all, all valves must be tested at different levels after entering the factory. Valves that need to be disassembled and repaired must be ground. During the repair process, you must carefully check whether the packing is added and whether the packing gland is tightened. Before the valve is installed, it is necessary to check whether there are dust, sand, iron oxide and other debris inside the valve. If there are any above-mentioned debris, it must be cleaned before installation. All valves must be fitted with gaskets of the appropriate level before installation. When installing the flange, the fasteners must be tightened, and the flange bolts must be tightened in sequence in a symmetrical direction. During the valve installation process, all valves must be installed correctly according to the system and pressure, and random installation and mixing are prohibited. All valves must be numbered and recorded before installation.

 

 

2. Preventive Measures for Oil Leakage

The system with oil storage tank must be carefully checked and cleaned before installation. Hydraulic pressure test must be performed on equipment with oil cooler. Hydraulic pressure test and pickling work should be done for oil pipeline system. When install the oil pipeline, all flange connections or live joints with threaded buckles must be fitted with oil-resistant rubber pads or oil-resistant asbestos pads. Oil system leakage points are mainly concentrated on flanges and threaded unions, so bolts must be evenly tightened when installing flanges to prevent leaks. When replacing the oil filter paper, the oil filter must be stopped.

When installing the oil filter temporary connection pipe (high-strength plastic transparent hose), the joint must be tied tightly with lead wire to prevent the phenomenon of jumping off the oil after the oil filter runs for a long time.

 

 

3. Measures for Eliminating Leakage of Valves

The pipeline installation and construction personnel must establish a good quality awareness, consciously clean the iron oxide scale and the inner wall of the pipeline, leaving no debris, and ensuring that the inner wall of the pipeline is clean. Ensure that the valve entering the site must be 100% hydrostatically tested. Valve grinding must be carried out carefully, and all valves (except imported valves) are required to be sent to a grinding class for dismantling, inspection, grinding and maintenance. Important valves should be listed for detailed second-level acceptance, so as to meet the requirements of "stamping, inspection and records".

 

As long as the enterprise attaches importance to the problem then adopts preventive measures and proper operation and maintenance, valve leaking can be greatly improved.
