How to deal with VOC waste gas?

As for the way to deal with the VOC waste gas, we can used special systems to cope with the problem.

These systems can be pipelines made of different pipes and gas valveand so on.

 

To be more specific, the production of VOC waste gas involves various industries, and treatment methods of the waste gas are also different. Common treatments for the VOC waste gas usually take use of direct combustion, regenerative combustion and so on. There are different advantages and disadvantages of different methods in the processing of VOC waste gas.

 

Direct Combustion

Combustion with auxiliary fuel such as gas or fuel oil can heat the mixed gas to decompose the substances which are harmful into harmless substances at high temperature, which is suitable for VOC waste gas in small volume. Also, the efficiency of the method is above 99%. The method of direct combustion has the advantages of low cost, high requirement of safety and so on.

 

Method of Adsorption and Concentration

A ceramic disc is made of ceramic fiber, which has a surface coated with a hydrophobic zeolite as an adsorbent. Compared with the absorption of activated carbon, the absorption of this method is dynamic adsorption, which will not be affected by saturation in adsorption. It is suitable for  concentration systems with exhausting gas in large volume and it can absorb more than 95% of the exhaust gas. Also, the running cost of the system is low but the investment cost is high.

 

Method of Catalytic Combustion

The exhaust gas is heated and converted into carbon dioxide and water by catalytic combustion. This method has a lower temperature of ignition and a high rate of purification. What is more, it is easy to operate. It is suitable for VOC waste gas at high-temperature or the waste gas in high-concentration. The efficiency of purification can reach more than 95%. It is suitable for waste gas in low volume and the waste gas at medium or high temperature. What is more, it has advantages of low cost of investment and operating. Also, it is in line with the concepts of clean production and green energy.

 

 

Method of Regenerative Combustion

Combustion of auxiliary fuels such as gas or oil can heat the waste gas to decompose into harmless substances, which is suitable for exhaust gas in small volume and gas in high concentration. Also, the purification efficiency of the exhaust gas can reach 99% and the investment cost of the RTO is high. However, the operating cost is low and the processing efficiency is high.

 

Method of Adsorption and Desorption with Activated Carbon

In this method, we should regularly monitor the exhaust gas and regularly replace the activated carbon. According to the records of adsorption of organic substances by activated carbon, the efficiency of adsorption can reach about 90%, which is suitable for waste gas in low and medium concentrations.

 

At last, in the deal with VOC waste gas, we should choose the method according to our purposes, advantages and disadvantages of the systems. Furthermore, we should care about the monitoring of the elements of the system such as the gas valves to keep them efficient.
